We have a new addition to our family. Care to make any guesses on what it could be?

Nina and Fiona Madsen

On September 1, 2011 my brother-in-law Stephen and his wife had TWINS!!!! I am so excited for them because they have tried for 5 years to have children and they finally had to do IVF (invitro fertilization) back in January. They kept their names a secret until they were born but here are their stats:

Fiona Ishizuka Madsen born at 9:29 am. Weight 3 lbs 14 oz.

Nina Lethe Madsen born at 9:28 am. Weight 4 lbs 2 oz.

Nina is doing really well and is quite the poser. I don't have any pictures of that yet but I have seen it and it is adorable. Fiona has been on a ventilator because her lungs hadn't fully developed yet but today she was removed from it completely and she is on a CPAP machine to stabilize her breathing. Fiona has improved though which is wonderful news. Mom is doing really well and just wants to have her babies home with her. My nieces are adorable and I can't wait to watch them grow up.

"Dear Rosemary"

So there is a song by the Foo Fighters that kind of reminds me of my grandma. This cd came out a couple of months before my Grandma passed away but this song has her name in it. The song is called "Dear Rosemary". The week of her passing this played a lot on our playlist and it just kind of stuck with me and the words are kind of related to her. On our trip to Texas for her memorial service we had heard this song 5 times just from Provo to Amarillo. I was listening to my best of mix today and I heard this song for the first time since that week. I find it kind of ironic that on Friday would be her birthday and I hear it again. My grandma will always be apart of me and I think about her often. I love you and miss you Grandma Rose. Thanks for being apart of my life and being the best Grandma ever! Here is a link of the song if you wish to listen to it:

One Final Down, One More to Go!

So today I took a final for my Sociology 320G class which was a Race and Minority Relations class. It was pretty interesting in learning all about the different races and how they are a minority group and that sometimes we are not a melting-pot as I had thought previously. The class at times was boring and I dreaded going to class but like 1/3 of my grade was based off attendance so I had to go when I didn't want to. So I really didn't study for the final but I ended up with this score:

Grade: 84%

It was a two part exam- part scantron and essay. The 84% is based off of the scantron portion. I should find out my final grade for this class by Tuesday night. I am just glad that I am done with one class and now I can focus on my Geology final which is on Friday.

Story of How We Got Our Cat

So back in October we adopted a kitty. Here is the story in how we adopted "Kitty": One night Seth had left our door open to our apartment because he needed to bring up his bass amp which is pretty dang heavy you ask me. While Seth was downstairs in comes this cat into our apartment. She starts roaming and sniffing everything in her sight. She looked malnourished and starving so we gave her some ham and turkey meat. She loved it. She started cuddling with me and I couldn't get enough of her but we decided that it would be best if she went back outside because we didn't know if she had any owners because she was so well mannered and didn't act like a wild cat. So as soon as we let her go outside she gets into a fight with another stray cat that was a lot bigger than she was and was scary. We found our cat up a tree in the back of our apartment complex and we got her down and she had poop all over her because she was scared. We let her stay in the bathroom because we didn't want her to destroy anything in our house.

The next day we called the animal shelter to report her and no one had report a cat missing. The animal shelter told us to keep her for a couple of weeks and if anyone called them about a missing cat they would let us know. Well they didn't call us back so we have kept her ever since. We have gotten her spayed and all of her shots done so we can call her ours. We love her! Here are some pictures of the cute kitty:

Quick Update On Life

So I think I have decided to give this blog another shot. I think this is a good way for people back home in California to read about what is going on our lives. I will probably be the only posting on this thing and please bear with me because it might take a long time for me to post on here.

Seth right now is currently working full time as implementation manager for AT&T. Don't ask me what he does there because there are a lot of technical terms that he deals with and I don't remember it all. He has about a year left in his Bachelor's and he is thinking of taking the rest of his electives through BYU independent study and then his last semester worth of German credits sometime next year. That is the plan for right now but Seth sometimes likes to switch things up on me so it might change.

As for myself, I am currently taking summer school and finals are next week so I am almost there. This is my first time taking summer classes and it has been very fast paced but I kind of like it because the professors have been very laid back about me missing some classes because of the passing of Grandma and weddings that I have been able to be a part of. I am currently a junior at Utah Valley University still studying Paralegal Studies. My hope is that I will graduate next December! I am just done with school and feel like I should have been done a long time ago but whatever. I am current;y working a seasonal job for AMP Security doing data entry for them and I am loving it. It is so laid back and I can do homework, which is a plus in my book! I am hoping that they will hire me on during the off season so I won't have to find another job but we shall see. Next semester I am going to be taking between 15-18 credits and working part time so that shall be fun.

We have this really cute kitty that we adopted back in October. That is an interesting story that I will have to tell later. Sorry no pictures yet because I am on the wrong computer but pictures next post.
